Lille forward Jonathan David comments on rumours linking him with a move to the Premier League amid interest from the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United.

Lille striker Jonathan David has indicated he would be interested in a move to the Premier League.

The forward scored nine goals and provided three assists in 15 games for Lille this season before he went off to represent Canada at the World Cup.

He started his country's opening two group games and came off the bench to feature against Morocco, in what proved to be a difficult tournament for Canada who lost all three matches.

While his national side were knocked out of the World Cup, David has been linked with a move to the Premier League following interest from Chelsea and Manchester United.

Arsenal are also thought to be an admirer of the 22-year-old, who has commented on a potential transfer to England's top tier.

As quoted by football.london, he said: "I am aware of nothing. When I am at the World Cup I am just focused on trying to enjoy the World Cup and enjoying the moment. What happens after I do not know, we will have to see.

"The Premier League is the best league in the world and I think every player would want to play there some day. What makes the difference at the highest level is the smallest differences.

"Any player who plays at the World Cup, no matter what the outcome, you become a better player, you learn from it, and it helps you grow."

With David under contract until June 2025, a recent report indicated that Lille could sell the Canada international if their €50m (£43m) asking price is met in the January transfer window.
