Reverter: 'Barcelona can make new signings in January'

Barcelona CEO Ferran Reverter says that the club are in a position to make new signings in January.

Barcelona CEO Ferran Reverter has insisted that the Catalan outfit are in a position to make new signings during the January window.

The La Liga side's financial problems saw them lose Lionel Messi on a free transfer last summer, while they are seemingly struggling to sign Ousmane Dembele to a new deal amid their off-the-field issues.

However, when asked about the club's plans for the upcoming transfer windows, Reverter said that his team would be able to improve their squad in the middle of the 2021-22 campaign.

"There is no doubt that Barcelona will sign or can sign [players] in January and the summer," Reverter told reporters.

The Catalan giants are believed to be keen to bring a new forward to the club at the start of 2022, but they might have to wait until next summer to sign Manchester City's Ferran Torres.

Chelsea's Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech are also believed to be targets, while Xavi's team have also been linked with Arsenal's Alexandre Lacazette.
