Matthew Briggs admits "massive" season

Matthew Briggs hopes that he can force his way into the first-team this season at Fulham.

Fulham left-back Matthew Briggs has admitted that the 2013-14 season is "massive" for him and his future at the club.

Briggs also said that he would be happy to go out on loan should Fulham decide that there will not be enough first-team opportunities for him.

"This season's massive for me," told the Fulham & Hammersmith Chronicle. "I came through the academy here and feel at home.

"It's still my dream to play regularly in the Premier League for Fulham. We haven't spoken about a new contract, but of course I would love to stay on.

"It's been difficult to nail down a spot because we've also got John Arne Riise and Kieran Richardson. I have to work hard and fight for my place, and if not I'm happy to go on loan."

Briggs had a successful loan spell last season at Watford.
