Club legend John Terry is reportedly part of a consortium hoping to secure a 10% stake in Chelsea when Roman Abramovich's ownership comes to an end.

Club legend John Terry is reportedly part of a consortium hoping to acquire a 10% stake in Chelsea when the sale of the Premier League club goes through in the coming weeks.

As a result of Roman Abramovich putting Chelsea up for sale and the British government imposing sanctions on the West London outfit, a change of ownership is expected to be formalised sooner rather than later.

A wide array of candidates have emerged ahead of Friday's deadline for offers to be put forward, many of them being willing to bid in excess of £2bn.

However, according to Goal, Terry is part of a consortium called 'True Blue' which are willing to put up £250m in order to secure a minority stake.

Ex-Chelsea Women's player Claire Rafferty is also said to be part of the group, as is Tory donor David Meller.

More developments are expected throughout Friday and the weekend when it becomes clearer how many parties have lodged a proposal for the European and world champions.
