Team News: Tottenham Hotspur hand full debut to Joshua Onomah against AS Monaco

Mauricio Pochettino names a much-changed starting XI for their Europa League group closer with AS Monaco, including handing a first senior start to Joshua Onomah.

Mauricio Pochettino has named a much-changed starting XI for tonight's Europa League group closer with AS Monaco, including handing a first senior start to Joshua Onomah.

The 18-year-old midfielder, who has just seven substitute appearances for the first team to his name to date, has been brought into attacking midfield where he will play alongside Clinton Njie and Erik Lamela.

The teenager's inclusion is one of seven changes made by Pochettino as the North Londoners look to secure top spot in Group J, with Harry Kane dropping to the bench and Son Heung-min coming in to lead the attack.

Kieran Trippier, Kevin Wimmer and Ben Davies are all handed starts in defence, while Tom Carroll replaces Dele Alli in midfield.

First-choice stars such as Christian Eriksen, Kyle Walker Jan Vertonghen and Mousa Dembele are all absent entirely as Pochettino rotates his squad.

Meanwhile, for Monaco, top scorer Lacina Traore starts in attack ahead of Stephan El Shaarawy as the Ligue 1 outfit attempt to pip Anderlecht to the second qualification spot.

Tottenham Hotspur: Lloris; Trippier, Alderweireld, Wimmer, Davies; Carroll, Dier; Njie, Onomah, Lamela; Son
Subs: Vorm, Carter-Vickers, Alli, Bentaleb, Chadli, Townsend, Kane

AS Monaco: Subasic; Dirar, Wallace, Toulalan, Elderson; Moutinho, Bakayoko, Pasalic; Silva, El Shaarawy; Traore
