Reims leapfrog Paris Saint-Germain at Ligue 1 summit with Lorient rout

Four different goalscorers chip in as Reims thump Lorient 4-1 to move top of Ligue 1.

Reims leapfrogged Paris Saint-Germain to move top of Ligue 1 on goal difference with a 4-1 demolition of Lorient at Stade Auguste Delaune II tonight.

Olivier Guegan's side moved above the reigning French champions - who have a game in hand - on goals scored by thumping their visitors this evening.

They opened the scoring on 23 minutes through Gaetan Charbonnier, whose cross from out wide deceived goalkeeper Florent Chaigneau.

After the break, Lorient gave rise to suggestions that they could leave Reims with something when Didier Bouanga levelled up on 48 minutes by lashing home out from outside the box.

However, the hosts hit back hard when Nicolas de Preville restored the advantage six minutes later, before Grejohn Kyei consolidated their lead with a third after the hour mark.

With the points effectively secure, Atila Turan added gloss to the scoreline by tapping home from close range late on to cap an emphatic win.
