Lille dispatch Sochaux with ease

Lille record a comfortable 2-0 victory at home to Sochaux in Ligue 1, thanks to goals either side of half time.

Lille have recorded a comfortable 2-0 victory at home to Sochaux in Ligue 1.

The hosts took the lead after only three minutes when Divock Origi headed home Simon Kjaer's corner into the net.

Djibril Sidibe tried to increase his side's lead minutes later, but his effort was kept out of the bottom corner.

Mickael Malsa could have equalised for Sochaux, but his right-footed shot from outside the box was saved by the Lille goalkeeper.

Cedric Bakambu wasted a good chance for the visitors after half time when he sent a header from close range wide of the goal, having been picked out by Sebastien Roudet with a cross.

Lille killed the game off in the final minutes as they caught Sochaux out on the counter, leaving Ryan Mendes to collect the ball from Idrissa Gueye and slot home to ensure that the hosts took all three points.
