Alloa Athletic stay bottom after Raith Rovers reverse

Alloa Athletic stay rooted to the foot of the Scottish Championship after a 3-0 reverse against Raith Rovers at Stark's Park.

Alloa Athletic remain rooted to the foot of the Scottish Championship after a 3-0 reverse against Raith Rovers at Stark's Park this afternoon.

The home side shaded proceedings in the early stages and Ross Callachan had a couple of efforts inside the opening 10 minutes before Craig Wighton went close.

Alloa began to get more of a foothold in the game and David Crawford and Geoff Mitchell both had shots before the half-hour mark.

Alloa goalkeeper David Crawford was called into action to deny the home side twice in as many minutes, before Kevin Cuthbert denied the visitors up the other end with a smart save.

After the break, Livingston had a good chance to respond but Daniel Mullen was unable to make the most of the chance just three minutes into the second period.

Raith eventually took the lead before the hour mark when James Craigen curled an effort into the top corner from outside the box.

Rovers wrapped up the points late on when Mark Stewart got on the end of Jason Thomson's delivery to convert from close range.
