Barcelona B survive Alaves scare

Barcelona B beat Alaves 3-2 at Mendizorroza to continue their strong start to the Segunda Division season, with the hosts missing an 88th-minute penalty.

Barcelona B have survived a late scare to edge out Alaves 3-2 in their meeting at Mendizorroza this evening.

The visitors got off to a flying start and found themselves three goals to the good before the interval.

Joan Angel Roman opened the scoring on 14 minutes, before Manu and Alex Grimaldo found the target to put Barca in command.

Toti managed to pull a goal back for the previously-unbeaten Alaves 20 minutes from time, while Juli's strike set up a tense finale.

In the 88th minute, the home side were awarded a penalty, but there was to be no dream comeback as Juli missed from the spot.
