Stephen Mulhern reveals that he is "talking about" a hosting role on Dancing On Ice.

Stephen Mulhern has confirmed rumours that he is holding talks about presenting Dancing On Ice.

Earlier this year, the long-running show's co-host Phillip Schofield was dropped from all of his ITV hosting duties after it emerged that he had lied to his bosses about having an affair with a younger colleague on This Morning.

Mulhern - an ITV favourite - was instantly linked with replacing Schofield as the new presenting partner for Holly Willoughby, although her role is also now in doubt after she resigned from This Morning.

Speaking about the rumours, Mulhern told the Daily Mail: "I used to do the spinoff show Defrosted and when I stood in for Phil when he wasn't too well, he had Covid, I really enjoyed it and it was so lovely being back with Holly.

"We had a great time together plus lots of the team were the same from when I did the ITV2 show.

"We are talking about it, but I promise you now that nothing is confirmed but if it happens, it will be absolutely amazing... if it doesn't, look, it doesn't. I promise you I would tell you if we had it confirmed at this point."

The new series starts on ITV in January.
