Ronnie Moore: 'We showed Swindon Town too much respect'

Tranmere Rovers manager Ronnie Moore puts his side's latest defeat down to poor decision-making.

Tranmere Rovers manager Ronnie Moore believes that his side were guilty of showing Swindon Town too much respect during their 1-0 defeat at the County Ground.

The Whites boss said that the reverse was the result of poor decision-making, with Rovers conceding a penalty at one end and missing a golden opportunity to equalise through Liam Ridehalgh at the other.

"I'm disappointed as it's another defeat. I think we showed them too much respect in the first half and sat off and let them pass it but we adapted ourselves well in the second half," he told the club's official website. "Their keeper hasn't been tested and for me we made two wrong decisions in the penalty area.

"For the penalty you've got to stay on your feet, you can't go to ground there. Then when we were in Liam shot when there were people queueing up and he hit the keeper. If you make the right decisions in those boxes it changes the game.

"They had a lot of possession in the first half and in the second half we went and pressed higher up the pitch. But when we got in the final third the decision making or the final ball in wasn't good enough."

The result leaves Tranmere rockbottom of League One on goal difference, with five points from their 10 games.
