Alan Curtis: 'Swansea City must improve for trip to Tottenham Hotspur'

Swansea City assistant manager Alan Curtis admits that the team must deliver an improved performance when they travel to Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.

Swansea City assistant manager Alan Curtis has acknowledged that his team need to return to winning ways as they look to move clear of the Premier League relegation zone.

The Welsh club currently sit three points clear of safety, but just two points in three games has left Francesco Guidolin's side within touching distance of Newcastle United, who occupy 18th position.

This weekend, Swansea travel to North London to face in-form Tottenham Hotspur, and Curtis has admitted that the club's players need to deliver an improved display to earn a result at White Hart Lane.

The 61-year-old is quoted by BBC Sport as saying: "We didn't expect to find ourselves in this situation but we're all aware of where we are.

"The Southampton game was disappointing but it's one defeat in five for us. We're all putting pressure on ourselves and we know we have to up our game considerably and get on another run."

Since Garry Monk's departure in December, Swansea have registered 13 points from 11 games in the Premier League.
