Real Madrid are lining up a move for Red Bull Salzburg's 22-year-old midfielder Mohamed Camara, according to a report.

Real Madrid have lined up a move for Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Mohamed Camara, according to a report.

The 22-year-old has played for the Austrian champions for the past three seasons, after joining the club from Liefering in the summer of 2019.

After impressing during 16 league appearances so far this campaign, as well as seven Champions League matches, his time at Salzburg could come to an end in the summer.

That is according to DefensaCentral, who are reporting that the Mali international is being lined up by Carlo Ancelotti's side as a backup to defensive midfielder Casemiro.

The Italian boss is said to have highlighted that area as a weakness when the Brazilian is unavailable, and Camara is one of six players being watched by Los Blancos.

Monaco's Aurelien Tchouameni, Fabian Rieder of Young Boys, Ajax's Ryan Gravenberch, AC Milan's Franck Kessie and former Newcastle United midfielder Mikel Merino are said to be the other five options.
