Agent: 'Paco Jemez wants Valencia job'

Rayo Vallecano boss Paco Jemez would be interested in taking charge of Valencia at the end of the season, according to the Spaniard's agent.

The agent of Rayo Vallecano boss Paco Jemez has revealed that his client wants to take control of Valencia at the end of the season.

Jemez, 45, has been widely lauded for his work at Rayo, whom he has helped survive in La Liga despite the capital club's shoestring budget.

Gary Neville is expected to leave his role as Valencia boss this summer after struggling to make his mark in Spain, and Jemez is said to be Los Che's number one target to take control at the Mestalla.

"Valencia haven't called me. Hopefully they will because Paco would love to train such an extraordinary club. They are one of the most important clubs in Spain, who have to fight for everything," Jemez's representative Daniel Munoz told AS.

"We started renewal talks two weeks ago but nothing is finalised, right now everything is stopped. Valencia are one of two or three possibilities in Spain, but we must be cautious. Paco is a man and a coach with personality and that's what Valencia need and any big team needs."

Jemez is reportedly also in the frame to replace Vicente del Bosque as Spain boss.
