Dougie Freedman: Conceding late equaliser against Blackpool was "alarming"

Nottingham Forest boss Dougie Freedman is alarmed with the way that his side spurned a chance of victory by giving away a late equaliser against Blackpool.

Nottingham Forest boss Dougie Freedman has admitted that he was alarmed by the way that his side conceded a late equaliser in their 4-4 draw against Blackpool.

Forest rallied from 2-0 down to get back into the game at 2-2, only to fall behind again minutes later at Bloomfield Road.

Goals from Henri Lansbury and Chris Burke handed them the lead in the dying seconds, but David Ferguson rescued a 97th-minute point for the 10-man Tangerines, costing Freedman his third win on the bounce.

Freedman told Sky Sports News: "I've got mixed emotions. I could have got three wins from three and with a minute to go I was nearly there. I've got to set the standards high here and make sure people understand what it is to play for Nottingham Forest.

"From 2-0 down I thought I would take a draw at that moment, and in the first half Blackpool deserved it. They played the conditions better than we did. But we looked to be winning the game with seconds to go and we lacked concentration. It's very alarming for me as a coach that at this level we can give that away.

"You're in the Championship playing against a team that's fighting for their lives so you shouldn't think it is job done. The pitch is a definite leveller but it's a leveller for two teams. In the second half we played much better and scored four goals."

Forest are 10th in the Championship following the draw and unbeaten under Freedman's management.
