Ajax boss Frank de Boer 'won't join Newcastle United'

Frank de Boer has no intentions of becoming Newcastle United's manager this season, according to his brother Ronald.

The brother of Ajax boss Frank de Boer has insisted that the coach has no intentions of leaving the Dutch club for Newcastle United this season.

The 44-year-old has been linked with the vacancy at St James' Park, but Ronald de Boer is confident that his sibling will not become Alan Pardew's successor.

"Of course you read it and you see fans of Newcastle asking Frank to go there but that's up to Frank," BBC Sport quotes De Boer as saying. "He's happy at Ajax and he will finish the season there, for sure.

"Next year, we'll see. One thing I know for sure, he's very happy at Ajax. He sees a lot of growth in the team and has no need or hurry to go."

De Boer has been Ajax boss since 2010.
