Tuesday's World Cup predictions including Portugal vs. Switzerland

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's World Cup fixtures, including Morocco vs. Spain.

The penultimate World Cup 2022 last-16 battle takes place at the Education City Stadium on Tuesday afternoon, as Morocco pit their wits against Spain.

La Roja finished second in Group E to set up a tie with their African counterparts, who fended off Croatia and Belgium to finish first in Group F.

We say: Morocco 1-2 Spain (a.e.t)

Morocco must harness every inch of their recent defensive resilience if they are to secure a first-ever appearance in the quarter-finals, and Regragui's attackers should also take confidence from La Roja's frailties at the back against Japan.

When they click into gear, Spain are a true force to be reckoned with in the final third too, and an extensive list of attacking options on the bench could end up making the difference for Enrique's side if the teams cannot be separated after 90 minutes.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Portugal vs. Switzerland (Tuesday, 7.00pm)

After both qualified for the World Cup knockout phase with two wins from three, Group H winners Portugal meet Group G runners-up Switzerland at Lusail Stadium on Tuesday.

In one of just two all-European ties amid a diverse last 16, two teams who experienced very different fortunes in their final group fixtures contest a precious place in the quarter-finals.

We say: Portugal 2-1 Switzerland (after extra time)

Given such an abundance of attacking talent, Portugal rarely have a problem with scoring - but protecting a lead is often another matter.

The persistent negativity of Fernando Santos often sees the Selecao retreat, which would allow a capable Swiss side to come into their own and force extra time. Nonetheless, the big-game nous of Pepe, Ronaldo and co should just see them over the line.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.
