Manchester United are reportedly open to paying half of Alexis Sanchez's £500,000-a-week wages if it persuades another club to step forward with an offer.

Manchester United are reportedly ready to cut their losses by paying half of Alexis Sanchez's £26m salary to get him away from Old Trafford.

The Chile international has been a massive flop since joining the club from Arsenal in January 2018, scoring just five times in 44 appearances.

Sanchez is not believed to be part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's plans beyond the summer, but United are struggling to find any clubs interested in matching the forward's £500,000-a-week wages.

According to the Daily Mail, however, the Red Devils are open to offloading the 30-year-old if that is what Solskjaer wants, even if it means taking a big financial hit.

United are resigned to paying as much as 50% of the ex-Barcelona star's wages to tempt another club to take him, it is claimed, though they will not sell to a Premier League rival.

Sanchez would still be owed £13m a season by United, but they could use the rest of his £250,000 weekly salary on other players.
