Jadon Sancho jokingly asked Marcus Rashford to help push through his move to Manchester United from Borussia Dortmund last summer, according to a report.

Jadon Sancho reportedly sought the help of England teammate Marcus Rashford during the protracted transfer saga surrounding his move to Manchester United.

The former Manchester City youth product is confirmed to be joining the Red Devils from the 2021-22 campaign onwards after they finally managed to agree a fee of £73m with Borussia Dortmund.

However, it has been far from plain sailing for United to get a deal over the line, as they were rebuffed last summer while Dortmund were demanding a nine-figure sum for the attacker.

According to The Athletic, Sancho jokingly texted Rashford: "Can you ask Ed to pay the money please?" in reference to Man United's executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward, who is set to step down at the end of 2021.

Rashford recently replied "Yes x" to a fan on social media when asked to announce Sancho's arrival, but the England forward would later claim that he was hacked.

Sancho's move to United will be finalised once England's Euro 2020 campaign concludes, and he leaves Dortmund having scored 50 goals, registered 64 assists and won one DFB-Pokal.
