Manchester United full-back Tyrell Malacia talks up his Netherlands teammate Cody Gakpo, who is being linked with a move to Manchester United.

Manchester United full-back Tyrell Malacia has lauded his Netherlands teammates Cody Gakpo, who has attracted interest from the 20-time English champions.

Gakpo was strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford over the summer, while a transfer to Leeds United also appeared to be close.

Instead, the Dutchman remained with PSV Eindhoven where he has registered 13 goals and 17 assists in 24 appearances this season, and he has continued to impress at the World Cup with the Netherlands, scoring three goals across four matches in Qatar.

PSV are believed to be open to selling Gakpo for a fee in the region of £50m, with Man United still interested in securing his services.

The 23-year-old is ready to join a big club according to Malacia, who told The Athletic: "He's good enough for the top, there's no doubt."

Although Real Madrid are also showing an interest, Gakpo has stated that he is currently focused on the Netherlands' World Cup campaign.

After beating USA 3-1 in the last 16, Louis van Gaal's side are currently preparing for Friday's quarter-final meeting with Argentina.
