Liverpool want to sign Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly this summer and have been in touch over a possible deal, according to a report.

Liverpool are reportedly interested in bringing Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly to Anfield during this summer's transfer window.

The 28-year-old has again been in impressive form for his Italian club this season, although he has been restricted to just 15 Serie A appearances due to injury.

Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have both been linked with a move amid suggestions that Napoli could be open to offers ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.

However, according to TuttoMercatoWeb, Liverpool are also firmly in the hunt for the Senegal international and have already made contact with Gennaro Gattuso's side ahead of this summer's transfer window.

The report claims that the European champions have been in discussions with the Blues as they seek to bring in a new centre-back partner for Virgil van Dijk.

Koulibaly, who has made 233 appearances for his current side in all competitions, could allegedly be available in the next transfer window for a figure in the region of £70m.
