Erling Braut Haaland happy to stay at Borussia Dortmund this summer?

Erling Braut Haaland is happy to stay with Borussia Dortmund for another year before potentially leaving next summer, claims European football expert Mark Langdon.

Erling Braut Haaland is happy to stay with Borussia Dortmund for another year before potentially leaving the club during next summer's transfer window, according to European football expert Mark Langdon.

The Norway international has again been in excellent form for BVB during the 2020-21 campaign, scoring 27 goals in 25 appearances in all competitions, including eight in five Champions League games.

A number of clubs, including Manchester United, Chelsea, Manchester City and Real Madrid, are said to be desperate to sign the 20-year-old.

There will be a £65m release clause in Haaland's contract in the summer of 2022, and Langdon believes that the forward will spend at least another year at Signal Iduna Park.

"He's very smart and very patient about the moves that he's already made. He could've gone to a bigger league and team than Borussia Dortmund, albeit they are a big one themselves," Langdon told talkSPORT.

"He recognised it was too big a jump to go to a Real Madrid type of team from Salzburg. He went to Salzburg, then Dortmund, I reckon he'll spend another year or so there. They'll get what they need out of him and then he can be on his way for that contract release clause."

Haaland has netted 43 goals in 43 appearances for Dortmund since arriving in January 2020.
