Manchester United will enter Thursday's clash with Arsenal on their worst ever run of Premier League form, picking just five points from their last eight matches.

Manchester United will enter Thursday's clash with Arsenal on their worst ever run of Premier League form, having picked up just five points from their last eight matches in England's top flight.

The Red Devils have won one, drawn two and lost five of their last eight in the league, with the run seeing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer lose his job as head coach on November 21.

A return of five points is their fewest over an eight-match spell in Premier League history, but the 20-time English champions managed to pick up a welcome point against Chelsea on Sunday.

Man United have not been victorious at Old Trafford in the league since overcoming Newcastle United on September 11, when Cristiano Ronaldo made his second debut for the club.

Since then, the Red Devils have picked up just one point from four home league outings, drawing with Everton, in addition to losing to Aston Villa, Liverpool and Manchester City.

Man United, who will again be led by Michael Carrick on Thursday, are currently eighth in the Premier League table, five points behind fourth-placed West Ham United.
