Manchester City are reportedly on the verge of signing England Under-17 international Divine Mukasa, who could be formally announced as a new Citizens player within the next 48 hours.

Manchester City are reportedly on the verge of signing England Under-17 international Divine Mukasa.

The 16-year-old is currently a free agent after leaving West Ham United earlier this summer following a 10-year spell in the Hammers' academy.

A host of British clubs have since been linked with the highly-rated versatile attacker including treble-winners Man City, Newcastle United and Scottish giants Rangers.

However, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Pep Guardiola's side have won the race for Mukasa's signature.

Romano adds that Man City could formally announce the signing of Mukasa within the next 48 hours after agreeing a long-term deal with the attacker.

He is set to become the second English youngster to swap West Ham for Man City this summer after 19-year-old Jamal Baptiste, who joined the Citizens on a free transfer earlier this month, and the defender has since joined Belgian club Lommel on loan.

Mukasa played 10 times for West Ham's Under-18s side in the Premier League 2 last season, scoring once and providing one assist.
