A report claims that it will take a bid in excess of £75m for Premier League champions Manchester City to land Leicester City left-back Ben Chilwell.

Manchester City will reportedly have to pay out a record amount if they are to sign Ben Chilwell from Leicester City.

The England international is believed to be a prime target for Pep Guardiola, despite playing down talk of a switch to the Etihad Stadium last week.

Guardiola is keen to bring in a new left-back ahead of next season due to concerns over Benjamin Mendy, who has endured another injury-hit campaign.

Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers rates Chilwell highly, however, and The Telegraph reports that, with the 22-year-old under contract until 2024, Man City face a serious fight to land their man.

A bid in excess of £75m will be required, it is claimed, which will surpass the amount Liverpool paid to make Virgil van Dijk the world's costliest defender last year.

Leicester have previously played hardball with the Citizens when locked in talks over Riyad Mahrez, who eventually cost Guardiola's side a club-record £60m.
