Merseyside duo battle for Caner Erkin?

A report claims that Liverpool and Everton are preparing to battle for the services of Fenerbahce left-back Caner Erkin.

Rivals Liverpool and Everton are reportedly both interested in signing Fenerbahce left-back Caner Erkin.

The 27-year-old is due to become a free agent at the end of the season.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the Turkey international's likely availability has captured the attention of the Premier League's two Merseyside clubs.

It is believed that Liverpool are eager to replace Alberto Moreno, while Everton full-back Leighton Baines will turn 32 later this year.

Erkin joined his current employers from CSKA Moscow in 2010.
