How Liverpool could line up with Dominik Szoboszlai

Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Liverpool could line up with Dominik Szoboszlai ahead of his £60m move from RB Leipzig.

Liverpool are reported to be closing in on their second signing of the summer transfer window, as the Reds prepare to welcome Dominik Szoboszlai to Anfield from RB Leipzig.

The 22-year-old's €70m (£60.2m) release clause has apparently been triggered by Jurgen Klopp's side, and he has been spotted touching down in the UK ahead of his big-money move.

Szoboszlai is set to become Liverpool's second signing of the summer window after Alexis Mac Allister, and a spot in Klopp's new-look midfield awaits the Hungary international.

Here, Sports Mole takes a look at how Liverpool could line up with Szoboszlai in the 2023-24 season.

Making a name for himself in an advanced midfield position for club and country, Szoboszlai will seemingly slot right into Klopp's midfield trident on the right-hand side from the first whistle.

Largely operating as a number 10 for RB Leipzig, Szoboszlai could very well occupy a similar role for the Reds should Klopp opt to deploy a 4-2-3-1, while Trent Alexander-Arnold's forays into midfield would push the Hungarian into that position when the Reds are in possession.

Alternatively, Szoboszlai could be utilised as an out-and-out right winger should Mohamed Salah be absent for any reason, or if Klopp adds another number eight to his ranks in the shape of Khephren Thuram.

For the time being, though, Szoboszlai can expect to form the midfield triumvirate with Mac Allister on the left-hand side, and Fabinho continuing to occupy the deepest position despite competition from Stefan Bajcetic.

The former Red Bull Salzburg starlet will no doubt be tasked with feeding Salah just ahead of him, while Cody Gakpo and Luis Diaz may get the nod as Liverpool's other two first-choice attackers at the start of the new season.

Amid his newfound success in his fluid role, Alexander-Arnold will likely complete an unchanged backline with Andrew Robertson, Ibrahima Konate, Virgil van Dijk and undisputed number one Alisson Becker.
