Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp hits out at Watford's "really harsh" treatment of managers following the sacking of Xisco Munoz.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has criticised Watford's "really harsh" treatment of their managers following the sacking of Xisco Munoz.

Munoz was relieved of his duties by the Hornets with the newly-promoted side sitting 15th in the table, and Watford moved quickly to replace him with Premier League title winner Claudio Ranieri.

Ranieri represents the seventh different name in the Vicarage Road dugout since January 2018, and Klopp has been left less than impressed with the constant comings and goings.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Klopp said: "I think it's really harsh how Watford deal with managers. How can you be surprised they have a new manager in charge?

"I am here six years now and I don't know how many managers I have faced in the Watford dugout. You learn the name of the new colleague and he is gone already. I don't like that. I like Claudio but you cannot be surprised with Watford."

The Liverpool boss also issued a team news update during his press conference, commenting on the likes of Alisson, Fabinho and Diogo Jota ahead of the Saturday lunchtime kickoff.
