Everton are reportedly set to make an offer to try and sign Burnley defender James Tarkowski in the summer transfer window.

Everton are reportedly planning on making an offer to Burnley's James Tarkowski over a potential move in the summer transfer window.

The central defender is out of contract at the end of this season with his current club, meaning that he will be available on a free transfer.

According to iNews, Everton are set to make an offer to sign him, with Farhad Moshiri reportedly prepared to financially back Frank Lampard ahead of the new campaign.

The Toffees boss is looking to inject some more leadership into his squad, and bringing in Burnley's club captain would be able to provide that.

Right now both teams are involved in the relegation battle, with the Clarets currently three points behind Everton.

The 29-year-old has featured in 29 of Burnley's 31 Premier League games this season, being a crucial member of the squad.
