The FA confirms that England's friendly against Holland tomorrow has been cancelled amid widespread rioting in the UK.

England's friendly against The Netherlands tomorrow has been called off due to widespread rioting in London, The FA has confirmed.

The game - a warm-up for the Euro 2012 qualifiers - was due to take place at Wembley, north London.

In a short statement, The FA said: "It is with regret that tomorrow's (Wednesday 10 August) international fixture with Holland at Wembley has been called-off."

Several Carling Cup games that were due to take place tonight have also been postponed, including West Ham vs Aldershot and Charlton vs Reading.

Many parts of the capital were in turmoil last night as rioters set fire to buildings, attacked police and vandalised businesses and homes.

The violence began to spread beyond London to Birmingham and Liverpool, although as of Tuesday morning the Third test between England and India was still expected to go ahead at Edgbaston on Wednesday.

More updates will follow throughout the day on Sports Mole.
