Crystal Palace are reportedly attempting to secure a deadline deal for Derby County forward Luke Plange.

Crystal Palace have reportedly made a late approach for Derby County forward Luke Plange.

In recent days, Rams boss Wayne Rooney has revealed that he has been assured by administrators that further players would not leave Pride Park before the end of the January transfer window.

However, according to the Daily Mail, Palace are attempting to sign one of the Rams' youngsters, who they will have to loan back to the Championship outfit if they want to conclude a transfer.

The 19-year-old has emerged as an important player for the East Midlands outfit, the prospect netting his third goal in eight matches against Birmingham City on Sunday afternoon.

The report suggests that Palace will have to shell out £1m if they want to sign Plange, as well as loan him back to his current club.

Due to a transfer embargo, Derby would be unable to replace the youngster if he were to leave permanently on Monday.
