Romelu Lukaku is set to undergo his Chelsea medical on Monday as he closes in on a £97.5m move from Inter Milan, according to a report.

Romelu Lukaku will undergo his Chelsea medical on Sunday ahead of a big-money move from Inter Milan, according to a report.

Despite the Belgian's previous insistence that he was content at San Siro, Chelsea are understood to have agreed a £97.5m deal to bring him back to Stamford Bridge for the 2021-22 season.

Lukaku will supposedly pocket a staggering £11m per year with Thomas Tuchel's side and is now edging closer to signing on the dotted line of a five-year contract.

According to The Athletic, Lukaku's Chelsea medical will take place in Belgium on Sunday, and the 28-year-old should then arrive in the English capital a day later.

Lukaku previously represented Chelsea for three years between 2011 and 2014, but he departed having made just 15 appearances and failing to find the back of the net in that time.

The ex-Manchester United and Everton man leaves Inter having scored 64 goals in 95 appearances for the Nerazzurri across all competitions, including 24 in 36 Serie A games during the club's triumphant 2020-21 season.
