Chelsea may reportedly make an approach for Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot once a takeover of the club is made official.

Chelsea have reportedly identified Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot as a potential summer transfer target.

At a time when a number of defenders appear to be on the verge of leaving Stamford Bridge, Thomas Tuchel's main focus is on finding suitable replacements at centre-back and wing-back.

However, a number of other areas could also be strengthened, including in the middle of the pitch with the likes of Jorginho and N'Golo Kante having been linked with exits.

According to Tuttosport, Rabiot is on Chelsea's radar and could be allowed to depart the Serie A giants for the right price.

That is despite the 27-year-old making a total of 45 appearances in all competitions this season, playing the fourth-highest amount of minutes of any Juve outfield player in Serie A.

Nevertheless, Rabiot has just over a year remaining on his contract, the suggestion being that Chelsea could be successful with a bid in the region of £17m.

The player's final year at previous club PSG during 2018-19 was spent with Tuchel as his head coach.
