Chelsea are reportedly hopeful that they can agree a deal with Barcelona for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Aubameyang only signed for Barcelona in January, but following the signing of Robert Lewandowski, the Gabon international could see his playing time decrease.

The Catalan giants may also decide to sell the forward in a bid to raise funds to help reduce their wage bill, which could help them register any further signings.

Chelsea are keen to strengthen their forward line before the transfer window closes, and Thomas Tuchel wants to be reunited with Aubameyang after the pair worked together at Borussia Dortmund.

According to The Times, Chelsea are optimistic that they can complete a transfer for Aubameyang, with further talks scheduled this week to discuss a deal.

Barcelona are believed to be looking for a fee in the region of £21m, while the player is open to a move to Stamford Bridge.

Aubameyang has scored 13 goals in 24 appearances for Barcelona and has three years remaining on his current contract.
