AC Milan allegedly hold an interest in signing Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic during the summer transfer window.

Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic has allegedly emerged as a transfer target for AC Milan ahead of the summer transfer window.

Although Pulisic has been a regular in the Blues squad during his time at Stamford Bridge, he has just endured the most frustrating year of his career in England.

Just nine starts were made in the Premier League and Champions League, a further 20 outings coming from the substitutes' bench, and only one goal and two assists came from those appearances.

With just over a year left on his contract, it is highly likely that the United States international will leave Chelsea over the coming months.

At a time when Mauricio Pochettino has become the latest incumbent of the Chelsea hotseat, there have been minimal discussions over fresh terms being signed by Pulisic.

The Chelsea hierarchy are also bidding to generate as many funds as possible before June 30, a consequence of needing to boost their financial situation before June 30.

That scenario makes Pulisic an obvious candidate to be sold, with a previous report indicating that Juventus are one of the frontrunners for his signature.

According to journalist Matteo Moretto, AC Milan are also in the running to secure a deal for the 24-year-old ahead of one of their fierce rivals.

Earlier this week, there were major behind-the-scenes changes at San Siro with club legend Paolo Maldini one of several figures to lose their respective position.

As a result, transfer negotiations have been paused in the short term, yet it appears that there remains a willingness to complete a deal for Pulisic.

Chelsea have held talks with Milan officials regarding a number of players, including Ruben Loftus-Cheek who is said to be ready to end his long-term association with the West Londoners.

However, the England international is one of the players whose potential move to Milan have been put on the backburner, something which will frustrate Chelsea when they expected to secure much-needed funds.

Milan have also been credited with an interest in the likes of Eintracht Frankfurt playmaker Daichi Kamada and Arsenal forward Folarin Balgoun.
