Lee Peltier fit for Brighton & Hove Albion trip

Cardiff City will have Lee Peltier available for their trip to face league leaders Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday, thanks to the full-back shaking off a leg injury.

Cardiff City manager Russell Slade has revealed that Lee Peltier has overcome injury in time to feature against Brighton & Hove Albion this weekend.

The full-back sat out last Saturday's victory over Charlton Athletic due to swelling on his leg.

Having returned to full training this week, Slade could now throw Peltier back into the fold for his side's trip to the South Coast, or alternatively the Bluebirds boss may opt to stick with a winning formula.

"He's resumed training and recovered from what was a dead leg so he's available," he is quoted as saying by Wales Online. "We've a few little concerns which we'll know more about after today's training session."

Slade also provided a positive update on the fitness of centre-back Ben Turner, who has yet to feature this term after picking up a fresh ankle injury during pre-season.

"I spoke to Ben yesterday who and he's started to make progress and he might be on the grass next week to do some individual fitness work," the former Leyton Orient chief continued.

"We'll start testing him out then. We said it would take eight to 10 weeks and that hasn't changed but after the reconstruction of his ankle we're pleased with his progress.

"It's looking sound, he's had another scan to show it's fine. It's good news because he's had problems but we're confident we can overcome them."

Cardiff are currently sixth in the Championship table, with just two defeats in their opening nine games.
