Dave Jones praises Jermaine Johnson for his "outstanding" display in Sheffield Wednesday's 3-2 victory over Blackburn Rovers on Saturday.

Sheffield Wednesday manager Dave Jones has heaped praise on Jermaine Johnson following the winger's brace in their 3-2 victory over Blackburn Rovers.

The Owls are now three points clear of the relegation zone in the Championship, and Jones admits that Johnson deserved the praise he received from the club's fans.

"JJ was outstanding. He felt a little tight towards the end but deserved the reception he got when coming off," Jones said.

"It's JJ's game and that's what you want, JJ to have his game. He needs to do that again in the remaining games.

"Today we showed a lot of character, a lot of determination, a lot of grit. I can't fault the lads."

Wednesday's victory means Blackburn slip into the bottom three with six games left in their campaign.
