Former Barcelona midfielder Xavi affirms that he is ready to coach "any team in the world" amid links with a return to Camp Nou to replace manager Ronald Koeman.

Former Barcelona midfielder Xavi believes he is ready to coach "any team in the world" amid links with a return to the Camp Nou dugout.

The World Cup winner is believed to be one of several candidates to replace under-fire Ronald Koeman, who is not expected to remain in charge of Barcelona for the long term.

Xavi is currently enjoying a successful stint with Qatari side Al-Sadd, but he has refused to rule out the possibility of taking the reins at La Blaugrana after initially rejecting an approach from his former club.

Speaking to reporters, Xavi said: "Yes, I feel ready to coach any team in the world. When they offered me it, I'd only been a coach for three months, but now it's different.

"I have more experience and I'm learning a lot here. I want to tell everyone that I'm very happy in Qatar and my idea is to keep achieving success with this team."

Xavi oversaw Al-Sadd's Qatari Cup victory over Al Rayyan on Friday, and the 41-year-old previously posted 85 goals and 185 assists from 767 games in a Barcelona shirt.
