Ilkay Gundogan, Inigo Martinez and Oriol Romeu are named in the Barcelona squad for the club's pre-season tour of the United States.

Ilkay Gundogan, Inigo Martinez and Oriol Romeu have been named in the Barcelona squad for the club's pre-season tour of the United States, which will see them play four matches.

The La Liga champions will kick off their preparations for the 2023-24 campaign against Juventus on July 22 before facing Arsenal, Real Madrid and AC Milan ahead of their return to Europe.

As expected, all three new arrivals this summer are included in the travelling party, with Romeu's return to the club from Girona being confirmed on Wednesday morning.

There are 32 players in the squad, including 19-year-old defender Mikayil Faye, who has joined Barcelona B this summer from Croatian outfit NK Kustosija.

Faye is believed to have made a strong impression during pre-season training thus far, and he will seemingly be given the chance to earn some first-team action in the United States.

Eric Garcia, Clement Lenglet, Sergio Dest, Ferran Torres and Franck Kessie are among the players to be linked with moves away from Barcelona this summer, but they have all been included in the squad.

There is also a spot for Abde Ezzalzouli, with head coach Xavi set to make a decision on the 21-year-old, who impressed during a loan spell at Osasuna last season.

The notable absence from the squad is Nico Gonzalez, with the midfielder widely expected to be on the move in the near future.

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Gonzalez has been informed by Xavi that he will struggle for football during the 2023-24 campaign if he remains at Camp Nou.

Porto are said to be leading the race for the Spaniard, who spent the 2022-23 campaign on loan at Valencia.

Barcelona ended last season with a 2-1 defeat to Celta Vigo in La Liga, but the Catalan outfit secured the title in the middle of May by beating rivals Espanyol.

Xavi's side then played a post-season friendly against Vissel Kobe at the start of June, recording a 2-0 win.

Following their pre-season tour, Barcelona will play another friendly against Tottenham Hotspur on August 8 ahead of their La Liga opener away to Getafe on August 13.

Full Barcelona squad for pre-season tour:

Ter Stegen, Astralaga, Pena; Faye, Kounde, Valle, J Araujo, Martinez, Dest, Lenglet, E Garcia, Balde, Christensen, Alonso, R Araujo; Gavi, Gundogan, Garrido, Pedri, Kessie, Lopez, Casado, Roberto, Romeu, F de Jong; Dembele, Lewandowski, Fati, F Torres, Raphinha, Abde, Yamal
