Arsenal and West Ham United reportedly tell Hibernian to lower their asking price for teenage left-back Josh Doig to £2.5m.

Arsenal are reportedly not willing to fork out Hibernian's £5m asking price for teenage defender Josh Doig.

The 19-year-old became a mainstay in Jack Ross's side during the 2020-21 season and ended the campaign with one goal and four assists from 24 Scottish Championship appearances.

Despite securing the services of Portuguese left-back Nuno Tavares earlier this month, Arsenal are still rumoured to be interested in a deal for Doig but are being put off by Hibs' asking price.

According to the Evening Standard, the Scottish side are demanding a fee of £5m to part ways with the youngster, but Arsenal are only willing to do business for half of that price.

The report adds that West Ham United are also keeping tabs on Doig, but they share Arsenal's stance and have told Hibs to lower their asking price to around the £2.5m mark.

Doig is under contract at Hibs until the summer of 2025 and previously spent time in Hearts' youth setup before making the switch to Easter Road in 2019.
