Arsenal reportedly decide to narrow down the shortlist of candidates in contention to succeed manager Arsene Wenger at the end of the season.

Arsenal have reportedly started to identify candidates who they feel are in realistic contention to replace Arsene Wenger.

The long-serving Gunners manager will leave his role at the end of the season and a whole host of names have been suggested for a possible arrival at the Emirates Stadium.

However, according to The Telegraph, the shortlist has been narrowed down, with Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri one of the names who will be considered in the coming weeks.

Arsenal find themselves in a position where they must wait until league campaigns come to an end before opening formal discussions, but it has already been suggested that Allegri will hold talks with Juventus regarding his future.

The report claims that Arsenal are also yet to decide whether they will go down the route of a head coach, leaving former players Patrick Vieira - now boss of New York City FC - and Manchester City coach Mikel Arteta as possible appointments.
