Cher is to headline this year's Royal Variety Performance, with Bradley Walsh hosting and other performers including McFly, Rick Astley, Mel C and Hannah Waddingham.

Cher has been confirmed as the main act at this year's Royal Variety Performance.

The music legend will appear at the prestigious event at the Royal Albert Hall to perform a song from her upcoming Christmas album in front of members of the Royal Family.

Bradley Walsh succeeds Lee Mack as host of the event, which will also feature a 100th anniversary medley celebrating Disney with songs from The Lion King, Frozen and Aladdin.

Other music performers on the night include McFly, Rick Astley, Paloma Faith, Zara Larsson and Beverley Knight. Mel C will also pay a musical tribute to theatre producer Bill Kenwright, who died last month at the age of 78.

As usual the most recent winner of Britain's Got Talent, comedian Viggo Venn, will perform - this year introduced by the show's creator Simon Cowell.

"I am so excited to be presenting this year's show," said Walsh. "It's been 30 years this year since I first performed at The Royal Variety Performance, so what an absolute honour to be hosting.

"The lineup is incredible and I can't wait for you all to see what I have in store."

The event takes place on November 30 and will be broadcast on ITV in December.
