The BBC is reportedly close to confirming a deal for a celebrity edition of The Traitors for 2025.

The BBC is reportedly on the verge of confirming a much-vaunted celebrity edition of The Traitors.

The breakout reality show - hosted by Claudia Winkleman - drew over 8 million viewers for its second series earlier this year and a third series is due to be filmed in Scotland this summer.

A celebrity version was first touted last year but has yet to be officially confirmed by the BBC - although a report in Deadline claims that an announcement is now imminent.

The publication says that the spinoff would be filmed next year and air later in 2025, contradicting previous reports that it could be shot back-to-back with the next civilian series this summer.

Meanwhile, around 300,000 people are thought to have applied for the next series of the regular version, up from 40,000 on the previous series.
