Strictly Come Dancing couple Amanda Abbington and Giovanni Pernice appear to deny a tabloid report that they have fallen out.

Strictly Come Dancing couple Amanda Abbington and Giovanni Pernice have taken to social media following rumours that they have fallen out.

A report in The Sun late on Friday alleged that the show had been thrown "into chaos" as Sherlock actress Abbington was considering quitting before tonight's first live performances.

The newspaper claimed that she has been left "very shaken" by Pernice's supposedly "militant" training methods and was contemplating pulling out of the competition.

After the report was published however, Abbington posted a picture of herself smiling on Instagram alongside the message: "The smile you give your pro partner at the end of the camera rehearsal when you know you are in safe and hugely talented hands. Giovanni Pernice ya legend. See you all tomorrow."

Pernice then reposted her Story, adding: "I usually don't say those things early (as probably everybody know) but I'm extremely proud of you and I can't wait for people to watch we have created."

The pair will perform a Viennese Waltz to Lewis Capaldi's 'Pointless' during tonight's show, which begins on BBC One at 6.15pm.
