Barbara Broccoli: 'No update on next James Bond movie'
James Bond franchise producer Barbara Broccoli says that there are no new developments concerning the next movie.

James Bond franchise producer Barbara Broccoli has said that there have been no fresh developments with the next movie.

In 2021's No Time To Die - the 25th film in the series - Daniel Craig stepped down as 007, meaning that a new actor will be taking over as the iconic spy in the 26th film.

A number of actors are believed to have been shortlisted for the role, with the likes of Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Henry Cavill, James Norton, Rege-Jean Page, Paul Mescal and Tom Hardy all linked, but no official announcement has yet been made.

Despite speculation that filming could begin in late 2024, Broccoli has now claimed that "nothing is happening", suggesting that casting, pre-production and a potential script are all still up in the air.

Speaking to Deadline's Baz Bamigboye at a BFI event this week, she said: "There's nothing I can tell you about the next Bond film. There's nothing. Nothing is happening yet."

No Time To Die pulled in over $770m (£611m) at the box office, off a budget of around $275m (£218m), to take the Bond franchise's inflated-adjusted all-time gross to around $20 billion (£16 billion).
