The Line of Duty series six finale pulled in more than 15 million viewers once seven-day viewing is accounted for.

The final episode of Line of Duty series six has now been seen by more than 15 million viewers, according to the latest ratings data.

The episode, which received a mixed reaction from critics and viewers alike, was seen by an impressive 12.8 million on the day of broadcast - Sunday, May 2.

The seven-day figure, which takes into account all those who have watched the show on demand through iPlayer over the last week, has now come in at 15.24 million, an increase of more than 15%.

The number is expected to rise further still when BARB releases a 28-day consolidated figure in three weeks' time.

Interest in Line of Duty remains significant on BBC iPlayer, where all six series are available for streaming, with hundreds of thousands of requests for the show every day.

Yesterday alone, episodes of the show accounted for 12 of the Top 20 on-demand programmes among the main broadcasters, led by an estimated 71,000 requests for the first ever episode.
