Sky Sports announces a new deal with the SPFL to broadcast more games than ever before.

Sky Sports has announced a new agreement for Scottish club football running until 2029.

Under the deal, the broadcaster will be able to show 60 live games a season - up from the current 48 - from across the SPFL starting in 2024-25, as well as having the ability to purchase further games if desired.

For the first time Sky will also show at least five games a year from the Scottish Women's Premier League and League Cup starting from the current season.

The arrangement also allows the 12 clubs of the Scottish Premiership to sell live streams of five home games a year to fans through their official websites, providing that the matches have not already been picked by Sky Sports or take place at 3pm on Saturdays.

"Every time we extend our partnership with the Scottish Professional Football League, more football fans are watching," said Sky chief executive Stephen van Rooyen.

"With this latest extension of our long running partnership, Sky Sports customers will continue to be treated to the biggest games and even more live matches.

"For the first time they will also have access to Scottish Women's Premier League matches as well, as we look to continue to bring the best football to an even wider audience."

The new deal is thought to be worth around £29.5m a season.
